About the Author
Ke Rong is Senior Lecturer in Strategy at the business school of Bournemouth University, UK. Ke was awarded a PhD degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in Tsinghua University of China in 2007. His research interests include business ecosystems and emerging industry, new energy industry, e-business ecosystem and business model, Industrial Dynamics, Emerging Multinational Companies' internationalisation
Yongjiang Shi is Lecturer in Industrial Systems and Research Director of the Centre for International Manufacturing in the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge, UK. He has been studying management of international manufacturing networks and supply chains for over 20 years. His research interests include global manufacturing strategy and business ecosystems.

This is a wonderful book! If you want the inside story on the Intel ecosystem and the ARM ecosystem and the Chinese/worldwide ecosystem of Mediatek, this is the book.
Make no mistake, this is an academic book on business ecosystems, but the general reader can just skip to the cases.
Unique to the book:
Intel, ARM and Mediatek are three of the most important companies in the world, and by far the most important "keystone" companies in the world of smartphones, mobile computing and Internet-of-things.
Silicon Valley in the United States, with Intel,
Silicon Fen in the United Kingdom and centered in Cambridge, England, with ARM Holdings,
Greater China, with Mediatek.
The authors are native Chinese researchers working in England, with a distinctly worldwide perspective.
The author's had inside access to key executives across these ecosystems, and were able to piece together a picture of the whole that is not available in the business press or investment reports. Much of this information is available in industry reports, particularly those in technical sources such as EE Times and industry blogs, but these are difficult for outsiders to interpret, and this book can help put these sources in a strategic perspective.
